Pineapples were introduced to Hawaii in the early 1800s from the West Indies. The pineapple motif can be found everywhere - from pineapple fields that dot the coastlines to beautiful pineapple designs adorning homes to welcome visitors. The pineapple and sugar cane plantations further brought the many immigrants that make up our rich multi ethnic cultural society today.
